If a classic Margarita recipe (on the rocks with salt) is undeniably perfect for you, then this watermelon version will exceed all your notions of cocktail perfection. It’s refreshing, naturally sweet without added sugar, and just look at that color.

Recipe information

  • Yield

    Makes 1

Ingredients

Kosher salt
1 lime wheel
3 oz. Salted Watermelon Juice or fresh watermelon juice
1½ oz. tequila blanco
¾ oz. fresh lime juice

Preparation

  1. Step 1

Place some salt on a small plate. Rub rim of an old-fashioned or rocks glass with lime wheel (reserve for serving); dip in salt.

    Step 2

Combine watermelon juice, tequila, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds. Strain cocktail through a Hawthorne strainer or a slotted spoon into prepared glass. Garnish with reserved lime wheel.
