1/3 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 lb green cabbage, cored and thinly sliced (6 cups)
1 carrot, shredded
1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped onion

Preparation

  1. Whisk together mayonnaise and sour cream in a large bowl until smooth, then whisk in vinegar, salt, and pepper. Add remaining ingredients and toss well. Let stand, uncovered, at room temperature, tossing occasionally, until wilted, about 30 minutes.
