Martini Noir

This drink is a twist on the dirty martini using black olives instead of green. James Bond mastered the mystique of the martini—it is the ultimate sexy drink. The icy vodka, the dryness of the vermouth, and the salty olives make the ultimate ménage à trois.

Recipe information

  • Yield

    serves 2

Ingredients

1/2 cup vodka or gin
1 teaspoon dry vermouth
1 tablespoon olive juice from the kalamata olives
6 kalamata olives

Preparation

  1. Combine the vodka, vermouth, and olive juice in a shaker with ice. Shake it up really well to break up the ice into shards. Strain into 2 martini glasses and garnish each drink with 3 black olives. Poke the olives with toothpicks as if you’re bobbing for apples.
