Overcooked Brussels Sprouts Recipe

Ingredients

Overcooked Brussels sprouts
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon vinegar (balsamic vinegar is especially nice)
1 tablespoon brown (or white) sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce (or 1/4 teaspoon salt)
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

  1. Drain the overcooked little devils as gently and thoroughly as possible. Meanwhile, combine the oil, vinegar, sugar, and soy sauce in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Sprinkle half of the bread crumbs in the bottom of a baking dish. Spread the sprouts over the crumbs. Pour the sauce on them, and then cover with a flurry of the remaining crumbs and the Parmesan cheese. You should warm this in the oven at 350°F, but since it’s already overcooked, don’t wait too long.
